Apple is rumored to host its next major launch event globally on September 10 at the iconic Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, California. The tech giant is anticipated to unveil the highly awaited iPhone 16 series, alongside the Apple Watch 10 series and the third generation of AirPods. Ahead of this event, a leak from Apple Hub has surfaced, revealing the potential pricing details for the iPhone 16 series.
iPhone 16 Series Pricing Details Leaked
According to the leak by Apple Hub, the base model of the iPhone 16 is expected to be priced at $799, which translates to approximately Rs 67,100 in India. The Plus models are rumored to be launched at $899, which is around Rs 75,500.
For the Pro models, the tipster suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro will start at $1,099, roughly Rs 92,300, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to be priced at $1,199, approximately Rs 1,00,700 in India. However, it’s important to note that these prices might not reflect the final cost of the upcoming models. Due to factors like high import duties, additional tariffs, and currency fluctuations, the actual pricing in India is likely to be higher.
Expected Specifications of the iPhone 16 Series
As per the report, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature a 60Hz refresh rate display and will retain aluminum bodies, unlike the titanium frames expected for the Pro models. This time around, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumored to come with ‘Apple Intelligence’ support through iOS 18, a feature previously exclusive to the Pro models in the iPhone 15 series.
These models are anticipated to offer up to 512GB of internal storage and will be powered by the A17 Bionic chipset, an upgrade from the A16 Bionic chipset. In terms of display sizes, the iPhone 16 and the Plus model are expected to be available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch options. Additionally, both models are rumored to feature a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 2x optical zoom. Battery capacities are expected to be 3561mAh for the iPhone 16 and 4006mAh for the iPhone 16 Plus.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to come with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively, up from the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch variants in previous models. Both models are expected to feature 120Hz refresh rate displays. They will likely be powered by the new A18 Pro chipsets and offer up to 1TB of internal storage. The Pro models are also expected to boast a titanium build and support Apple Intelligence. For photography, they might feature a new 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, replacing the 12MP lens found in current models, along with support for 5x optical zoom.
In terms of battery life, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to come with a 3,355mAh battery, while the Pro Max model might be equipped with a larger 4,676mAh battery.
