HP Spectre, the world’s thinnest laptop is set to launch in India on June 21. HP has already started sending out media invites for the event.
The laptop, which is just 10.4mm thick was announced by the company earlier this year. HP Spectre features a 13.3-inch display, setting a new benchmark for thinnest 13-inch notebooks out there.
HP Spectre features a 13.3-inch Full HD display and the base model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. HP has managed to create a new heat pipe that pushes heat away from the processor and added two more fans at the back to vent out the heat.
HP Spectre can be configured with Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processor, unlike fanless Core M processors used on other thin and light notebooks.
HP Spectre largely uses aluminium for its build but the bottom features carbon-fibre. HP has gone for piston hinge at the edge of the laptop, which folds flat to look like a hinge less design.
HP Spectre supports three USB Type-C ports. The base model of HP Spectre 13 costs $1169 (Rs 78,282 approx). We will, however have to wait and see how it is priced in India.
For years, Apple’s Macbook Air was called benchmark for thin laptops. Macbook Air measures 17.2mm at its thickest point while the 12-inch Macbook comes in at 13.2mm. But, with Spectre, HP wants everyone to think otherwise.
