Google, Microsoft and eBay fall victim to Pakistani hack

The Pakistani websites of Google, Microsoft, eBay and hundreds of others have fallen victim to a hack attack that led to their defacement. The attack became apparent on Saturday, according to the ProPakistani IT blog, which explained that someone had changed the DNS entries for 285 .pk domains that had been managed by the Thomson-Reuters subsidiary MarkMonitor , effectively redirecting visitors to those sites to the hacker's own domain. Rather than taking people to their web searches or gift-buying expeditions, the sites were displaying a photograph of penguins, the words "Pakistan Downed" in English, and an obscure message in Turkish. The hacker identified him or herself as 'eboz'. Aakash Tablet not Launch this Year... So ,sad students

The Centre’s plan of digitising Indian classrooms by making the world’s cheapest tablet ‘Aakash’ available to students still seems distant. As maker Datawind had announced in March while shifting the project from IIT-Rajasthan to IIT-Bombay, the tablets were expected to be delivered by May. But not one piece is ready to be delivered to students yet, even though the new academic year is soon to commence. Professor Deepak Phatak, in-charge of Aakash project at IIT Bombay, said, “We got the Ubislate7+ (the commercial name of the device) project in March, but the funds were transferred from Rajasthan only in April. Currently, we are developing applications and content for engineering colleges. We will inform about delivery in due course of time.
