Mapping A Network Drive In Windows 7

Windows 7 has many useful features, one of chief grounds is the mapping of Network Drive and as you know today most of the offices are using computer in a network, it is becoming very important for to know more about the system.

Mapping is nothing but a system, where you can share any file or folder from any system connected with the workgroup. Unlike the OS windows XP you don’t have to share each folder that you want to share through your network, but it’s more simple than that if you know the proper system. First, you have to click and open the Computer and then you’ve to click on the ‘Map Network Drive’. Else, you can press Alt + T simultaneously if you don’t want to do it through your keyboard. Now, just select the drive letter that you want to share and in the box below type the full path of the folder that you want to share. If you want to keep the setting even after restarting your machine just check the box below named ‘reconnect on logon’.

Now you should able to see the administrator’s icon on the computer. If yes, then just write down the user name and password in the boxes to get access to the computers. That’s it, you have done the full process successfully. If no, then you have to check your network connection and other peripherals, if they are working properly.
